The transferred product is moved by belts usually of circle diameter ( hollow or full ), moving on pulleys. The number of belts depends on the width and weight of the transferred product. Conveyors can be constructed as direct or arc from 0 to 180°, horizontal or ascending, according to the customer's desire. The angle speed of all belts of arcs is constant, so that the product does not slew during the transfer, with the help of sheet-metal side-plates on the edges of the conveyor.
Belt conveyors are used especially in the food and wood-working industries.
