The diameters of rollers depend on the width and length of conveyor. For reliable transfer of small objects between conveyors it is possible to use end rollers with a diameter of less than 20 mm. Suitable choice of material and belt surface in combination with the optimal construction of the conveyor allows the transfer of various products not only in a horizontal direction, but also ascending up to 45° (depending on transferred product). The speed of the belt could be constant, or regulated by variator (mechanically), or by frequency converter (electronically).
In terms of construction we recognise two basic kinds of tracked conveyors:
– Firstly: conveyors, the belt of which is tense between two end rollers – driven and driving. The driven roller provides transfer of movement from the electric gearbox to the belt, the driving one provides the tension of the belt. The electric gearbox is usually situated directly on the shaft of the driving roller. In cases where there is a lack of space next to the conveyor, the electric gearbox is hidden under the belt, and transfer of the movement is provided via chain. This type of arrangement of rollers and electric gearbox is used for shorter conveyors, the belt of which is not too loaded with transferred products, or its own weight.
– Longer conveyors, the belt of which is loaded by greater strength, or its own weight, for transition of movement from electric gearbox to another belt used by another roller, which is situated under the belt in the drive station. In the drive station the belt is attached to the driving roller with two free-running rollers, so that slipping does not occur.
Conveyors can be provided with optional equipment, such as guiding side plates, output and input plates,
